There are weekly Sunday cycles, even throughout the winter! The cycle routes go into Essex to try and avoid the busier roads. Members of the club meet at the Castle public house in Woodford Green on Sunday mornings. (Click on the image opposite to view location map)Castle Public House

There are two rides of different abilities which leave the Castle on a Sunday morning:

One group leaves at 8am and you need to be able to cycle at a continuous steady pace and the aim is to cover 50 - 60 miles and a good standard of cycling is required.

Another group leaves at 8.30am and this ride is for all club members, no matter what their cycling ability and no-one will be dropped. The ride usually lasts for 2 – 3 hours.

Please note - To join an ELT ride you should wear a helmet, carry a pump, tyre levers, spare inner tubes, some money, phone and a drink. It will also be very beneficial to know how to change an inner tube. It is unlikely that you will be able to keep up if you have a mountain bike.

Remember: No helmet No ride.

After most Sunday rides, people gather at the tea hut at high Beech for a cup of tea, slice of cake and chat. For details about all the club rides, see the club email group or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more details.
